I don’t think I’ve ever watched an Oprah show, but I happened on her website one day several months ago, and am now such a fan of hers. I love the positive energy of the messages that are given out by her and all the regulars on her show – and I look forward to the regular email newsletter I signed up for, so I can dip into any of a variety of thought-provoking topics.

In today’s email, Michael Losier talks about the Power of Gratitude in our live. The sentence that I liked most in the article is this:

“if you are noticing what you appreciate and noticing what you are grateful for, you can’t be noticing what you don’t like.”

How simple is that? And yet how powerful? I can do that!!

Last week I was walking towards home with a friend. She referred to the rain that was softly falling, saying she hoped it would clear up for the following day as it had been such a miserable day. My response? “My flowers are getting watered for me.” And yes, I did get a slightly odd look, before she laughed and agreed that it was a nicer way of noticing the rain.

Practice an act of appreciation at least once a day – and notice how negative habits start receding as you start to really notice the beauty in the minutiae of each day.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Tracey :)
