I have recently started learning a bit about Transactional Analysis (T.A.), which is very useful in explaining why we sometimes act in a particularly childish or critical way, to ourselves or others, in certain circumstances.
One very interesting element of T.A. is how people need and crave positive recognition, from themselves and from others. You have to top up your store of “positive strokes” each and every day to be a happy balanced person. But in todays society, particularly in the West, we’ve learnt to restrict our interaction with others, with the unfortunate result that we don’t top up our stores often enough!
Read the story of The Warm Fuzzies by Claude Steiner – it’s an endearing tale ![]()
You can read more about T.A. at his website.
I’m going to see how many “warm fuzzies” I can get and give today!!!!
